Rubis Energizes TA Thompson Junior High's First Day of School with Exciting Giveaway

On September 2nd, 2024, Rubis Bahamas Limited, made the first day of school at TA Thompson Junior High extra special by providing school supplies to 227 new Grade 7 students.

Recognizing the financial strain back-to-school shopping can have on families—especially for those transitioning from primary to junior high—Rubis stepped in to help ease the burden. Each Grade 7 student received a new backpack, eight notebooks, and hand sanitizer. Additionally, Rubis also set up a fun photobooth with props, where students captured their first-day-of-school memories in printed form, adding an extra touch of excitement to the day. The initiative aimed to ensure that students start the academic year with the tools they need to succeed.

Fourteen dedicated team members from Rubis' Head Office, Clifton Pier, and Aviation Terminals volunteered to make the event a success. "Rubis is committed to supporting the community in which we operate, and being located just three minutes from TA Thompson Junior High, we saw this as a perfect opportunity to give back," said Vashti Johnson, Sales & Marketing Coordinator at Rubis.

The donation was designed not only to reduce the financial burden on families but also to encourage students to embrace their education with enthusiasm and pride. The students' smiling faces and excitement were a clear indication of the event's positive impact.

Rubis looks forward to continuing its partnership with TA Thompson Junior High and other local schools to support education and community development.
