RUBiS Bahamas Feeds 600 through Great Commission Ministries
Rubis extended a helping hand to serve the Bahamian community after hearing Great Commission Ministries plea for corporate assistance over the radio.
Great Commission Ministries (G.C.M.) is a multi-faceted, non-governmental organization that provides food, shelter, clothing and support for the poor, the hurt and at-risk youth. Daily, the G.C.M. prepares and feeds around 600 persons.
Located less than 10 minutes away from Rubis’ head office, the sponsorship and donations committee deemed it necessary to assist. Thus, on Friday, May 24 th , 2024, Rubis stepped in and gave G.C.M. the day off. A Friday, carefully being selected, to give the cooks and regular volunteers an extended weekend break. Rubis partnered with Sandy’s Café to provide a delicious catered meal and supplies. Seventeen (17) Rubis Bahamas Limited employees and retailers volunteered to be present and give back. Volunteers split the duties of fork wrapping, runners, serving, on-the- road distribution and the placing of Rubis stickers on containers. Team Rubis took over the kitchen and packaged 600 meals to hand to visitors and distribute to the sick and shut in.
Great Commission Ministries is a notable organization known and recognized for working in the community for over thirty-seven (37) years. The organization recently endured many hardships, including a fire and having to rely on personal funds to keep afloat.
